Veronica Johansson klein Dr. Veronica Johansson is an ethicist with a specialization in neuroethics and nanoethics. The focus of her research have been deep brain stimulation, brain-machine interfaces, major depressive disorder, nanomedicine, and notions of authenticity and identity raised by neuromodulation techniques. Her doctoral project was undertaken at the Neuronano Research Center, Lund University, an interdisciplinary research platform combining neuroscience, nano- and microtechnology, and biotechnology to create a new generation of BMIs. Dr Johansson’s current work addresses the ethical implications of EEG as a last resort means of communication for certain patient groups, as well as participatory medicine and ‘embedded ethics’, a method within bioethics that draws on both empirical ethics and casuistry.
