This project will develop a normative framework for the consequences of age-related innovation on the individual and social level. First, the general aim of life-prolongation will be examined according to its ethical desirability on the individual and the social level. Secondly, a normative model for the just allocation of resources in the context of age-related interventions will be developed. In a four-step proceeding, philosophical theories of the good and social justice will be applied to the theories of just health care, categories of goods created by age-related innovations, and concrete goods represented by such interventions.
